A whisper of a dress, so light and airy Edwardian sheer cotton and lace slip dress. The bodice closes with covered buttons. The skirt has a lace flounce on one side. A very delicate dress.
Two repairs done many years ago are part of the story. A tiny break in the mesh in the upper bodice (see photo, hard to see). Ever so slight yellowing at the top. Bits of soiling around the buttons. A few items to note but what a beauty! Also one of the buttons was moved to accommodate a slightly larger rib size but it doesn't really work because the measurement in this area is fixed and there is no stretch to the fabric (see very last image). The fabric on one of the covered buttons is very thin and the button hole here is frayed.
