Sophisticated Vintage 1940's Black Crepe Dress has Royal Blue Sequins stitched in a swirling pattern covering the fitted bodice in the front and along the neckline in the back. The fitted waist is tailored beautifully with a draping swag at each hip and a small gathered peplum in the center. The skirt falls straight with a gentle a-line and hits at about lower calf length depending on your height. This stunning dress with its classic 40's styling, oozes sophistication.
Tailored to follow the curves of the body, dresses of the 40's are designed not to compete with, but to enhance the silhouette.
The dress has small shoulder pads, is unlined and zips at the side with a metal zipper. Shoulder pads are easily removed, but we kept them in to keep the originality of the dress.
I lightened the photographs so you can see and appreciate the details in the dress, the color of the crepe fabric is really jet black and the sequins are royal blue.
