1930s 40s Merlot Velvet Maxi Vintage Evening Dress Coat

Unbelievable soft sumptuous silk velvet 1930s 40s vintage evening dress coat styled with amazing ruching detail at the pockets and gathers in the skirt of the coat that fall below the pockets. Statement shoulders that stand tall with expert pleating at the shoulder seams.  

A wonderful coat that wears like a dress and will make a statement before you've even revealed what you're wearing underneath...when you need that first impression.

Fully lined in a matching silk satin.  Closes with 5 covered buttons from the neck to the drop-waist.

Fit...the coat closes down the front with 5 buttons, the bottom button is at drop waist level so the coat falls free at the hips.  The smallest part of the coat is through the bust, it is extra small and tight in this area. 

Condition excellent, see last image for crease and nap of velvet at collar.  Also in the back of the coat there are tiny matte finish spots, very usual for the age of the coat.  The velvet and coat are in remarkable condition.  I try to disclose all the visuals that don't look perfect.  The lining is in beautiful condition, no stains or rips.
