Lovely clear beads on eggshell monochromatic silk 1920s sheath dress. The beadwork is done in diamond shapes alternating with horizontal stripes and flowers. An attached silk ribbon ties in the back at the drop-waist with a diamond shape appliqué at each hip, both of which are encrusted with 3-D floral beadwork designs. Simple yet sophisticated, the perfect look for a wedding.
Condition: The silk is in wonderful condition and there are no underarm stains, which is rare these days. The issue with the dress is bead loss in a few places around the dress, see last image for one example. The remedy would be to purchase and attach beads. Also a small hole on one shoulder. A few reattachment stitches needed on the diamond shape appliqués at the hip. Otherwise, the dress, which I pulled from the home of the original owner, is clean and wearable.
