Designed by Gene Verrecchio for Coro, this pair of love birds are called, Mr. and Mrs. Bird. There is a patent drawing for this delightful pair, #125976, issued March 18, 1941. Both birds are enameled in two shades of blue with yellow feet and beaks, red enameled eyes and rhinestone-studded feathers at the top of a wing. Mr. Bird sports a black enameled top hat with red stripe and a red enameled hooked cane.
Measurements:
Each bird is 2" wide and 1" tall
Both have robin's egg blue glass cabochon "jelly bellies".
Condition: Excellent with tiny bits of enamel loss around the edge of the top hat. Rare to find in condition this good.
