The lilac vines that trail the length of the dress look like they are etched into the golden glow of the shimmery lurex. The pastels are soft and beautiful, the coat styled with simple long lines and adorned with rhinestone buttons.
We turned this dress into a coat by removing the zipper, closing up the back seam and then opening up the front so that the buttons actually work (the front was sewn shut originally, huh?) and it wears more like a coat than a dress. It is a bit small in the waist.
I took a few of the images with direct light on the coat so you can see the sparkle and sheen of the lurex. Other images were taken in soft indirect lighting.
Condition: Could use a cleaning. I spot cleaned some yellow/rust very small spots and they came out pretty easily. In the photos on the upper right bodice there appears to be a yellow tint, not sure if that is a storage discoloration or the light playing on the fabric. There are a few faint spots in the lining. Still an amazing piece and very wearable on the right size.
Important to note that when the coat is closed, the two pieces do not overlap so you will see whatever you are wearing peaking out from under the 'keyhole' openings between the buttons. This is not a conventional coat so be sure you are ok with the way it closes, that it reveals whatever is underneath.
