The Keyhole opening plunges daringly to the small of the back on this vintage 1930s Poppy Print rayon crepe gown. The pleated bodice has a boat-neck neckline, tiny open slits at the 'cap' sleeves and meets the waist in a gentle upward curve. A small train trailing at the back adds sophistication. A matching fur-trim Kimono style Jacket completes this vibrant ensemble.
Condition: Excellent/Very Good. See last two images. We restitched the seams at the shoulder where the clip is located and tightened up the side seams. There is slight fraying and weakening of the fabric at the hem in the rear with one small (1/8") hole located approximately 2 1/4" up from the hem along with a few other tiny fractures near it. Scuff marks and 'pilling' around the bottom of the dress where perhaps it graced the floor during wear. Depending on the height of the wearer, some of this could be 'hemmed out', all the issues are at the bottom of the train. On the jacket, there is some matting of the fur at the top of the cuffs (where they meet the sleeve fabric). The fur is soft like rabbit but I'm not exactly sure what type of fur it is.
The dress is unlined and pulls on over the head and closes with tiny snaps at the waist on one side. There's also a covered button closure at the top center back. The dress has a large keyhole opening at the back as seen in the images. The jacket is made to be worn open and has no closures.
