Very fun summer outfit done in candy stripes of raspberry and tangerine with a pin stripe of bright blue. I love the adorable puff sleeves on the corset-like fitted bodice. Take note of the tiny gathers at the shoulders/tops of the sleeves, you don't see stitching like that very often in modern day fashions. And the skirt has a super high waist with tiny ruching at the front and back center and a very full skirt. I believe this set is from the 1930s given the tiny gathers, and bears two labels which I show in the images, one is Saks Fifth Avenue and the other states the fabric is, 'Hand Loomed from India'.
The fabric feels like a cotton chambray. There are imperfections in the fabric due to it being hand loomed. Both pieces are unlined. The top closes down the front with tiny hidden snaps. The skirt closes in the rear with a metal zipper and hook & eye closures at the top of the waist band.
The listing is for the skirt and top only. It does not include the jewelry, hand bags or other accessories.
Condition: Excellent with no glaring flaws. One of the hooks is bent, I have not attempted to 'straighten' it. The inside edges around the neckline of the top curl up and will need to be ironed down.
