Unbelievable vintage coat fully embroidered with medieval figures, scroll work, florals and medallions. The aqua embroidery is a magnificent contrast to the paprika red background. The fabric is a cross between a very fine corduroy (tiny ribbing) and velveteen. It is lined in a rust taffeta. A wonderful well preserved piece. You just need to find a very cool button for the shoulder closure!
A tough one for me to date, I'm saying 30s but happy to hear anyone's educated opinion on this.
Condition: See last image. The coat crosses over and fastens with two buttons, one at each shoulder, one interior and one exterior...both buttons are missing. There is a tiny slit in the shoulder seam. Fading down one side, slight, you can see it in the embroidery.
Measurements:
M / One size fits most
Shoulders 18" (the shoulder seams are cut in so I measure a bit beyond the seams)
Sleeves 15"
Length 47"
The coat closes with two buttons at the shoulders and an attached wrap tie at the waist.
