Amazing 1920s 30s Sheer Embroidered Flapper Wedding Dress! Netted Panel extending down the front of the dress is Embroidered with Abstract Leaves and Flowers using Crewel, Satin Stitch and French Knots. The embroidery design starts at the neckline and extends down the front of the gown ending at the lower hip level. A flared handkerchief hem line is fashioned with panels of mesh/netting. Short flutter sleeves, also embroidered. This dress, with the lower flared panels, reminds me of a softer variation on the robe de style dress you see with exaggerated pannier panels.
The color of the dress is light golden champagne. It is very light weight and sheer. The dress, although floaty, has a stiffer crepe/organza feel.
The gown is sheer, unlined and closes under the left arm with very small snaps. Because the gown is sheer you will need an under slip.
I photographed the dress on a hanger because I could not get it past the shoulders of the mannequin. Dresses that close with side snaps can be difficult to get on, take note of this when you are deciding on the dress.
Condition is excellent structurally. A few rusty marks on embroidery. Stains at the bottom of the gown. The netting on both sides has visible water marks and stains that have aged to a rusty color. I have not attempted to clean. See images for marks and stains.
